The exceptional climate of the Crete attracts more and more North-europeans. It is not rare indeed that in the Island the Thermometer posts 18° in full Winter. The sky is of a limpid blue , the cretan live quietly, Crete is also magic except season! Of course one does not bathe there yet but there will be always at the edge of a beach, seemingly deserted an open tavern which will accomodate you cordially. Admittedly it rains sometimes during these four months, it is necessary well that olives-trees, orange-trees, lemon-trees and others treat us in the Summer ! And then do not forget that the center of Crete shelters an mountain range whose mounts Psiloritis and Lefka ori (2456m) are snow -covered the winter. When with the innumerable gorges (of which most know are the death valley and Samaria closed except season) they will leave you unforgettable memories of excursions.Those of Imbros are in 15 km in the South of the House.
Early spring on the island is certainly the most pleasant Period ; the Vegetation bursts then out a Festival of colors and scents !

Charter flights Each Day approximately 15 Flights join the Island of Crete from Athens and thus of the whole World. They arrive on the two Airports of the Island: Hania (Chania) and Heraklion. From April at October each Week , hundred direct Charter flights are coming from all Europe. Scheduled flights Almost all the international scheduled Flights forward by Athens; there ,you must take a domestic Flight to Hania or Heraklion. They are rather frequent (approximately 6 per Day for Chania and more for Herakleion). Ferries from Italy ( for the Brave : 1 Day and half) If you decide to come to Crete by car, several maritime companies connect Italy (Venice, Trieste, Ancône, Bari, Brindisi) to the Greek continent (Patras and Igoumenitsa). The fastest crossing for Patras is ensured by Superfast Ferries. It is slightly more expensive than the other companies and the summer it is recommended to hold in advance. Join Piraeus by car (250 km) and embark for Crete!
Ferries at the departure of Piraeus There is a regular Service of Ferry Boat since the Port of Piraeus in direction of Heraklion and Chania. The boats leave every evening towards 8 p.m. and arrive very early the morning; they are reliable, less expensive than the Plane and can be rather romantic.
